Day 2 - Glitter Stars

Day 2 of our Advent craft a day was another easy one.  My 2 year old was the special crafter today so I did an activity that would be easy and enjoyable for her.  Even though this was geared toward my two year old, my six year old had just as much fun and probably made more of these stars than anyone.

Everyone loves glitter, well maybe those of us who have to clean it up don't love it that much, but it is a lot of fun to work with.  For some of the stars we used a paint brush to cover the stars, while for others we just squirted it out making fun designs and patterns.  I have discovered that carry-out containers are the best things to use when working with glitter.  They are big enough to hold the paper and when you are done you can either poor the glitter out into a shaker or just put the top on and save it for the next project.

  • Card stock, cut into stars
  • Glue
  • Glitter

  • Cover star in glue, cover with glitter

For our window decoration I strung three stars together.  The rest were used to decorate bedroom doors and windows and a few were saved to be used as gift tags.
